Program Overview

‘Farm Friends & Flower Power’ is a 55minute in-class workshop where your students will experience a lively, hands-on introduction to horticulture, ecosystems, and the important role of farmers in our world. Kids will learn about the plants and bugs that make up a mini-ecosystem and why farmers are important “eco-heroes” for all of us. At the end of each workshop children will get to create their own mini ecosystem or floral bouquets to take home. 

Outcome
After attending this program kids will deepen their understanding of plants and bugs and have an increased empathy for nature and appreciation for the natural world around them.

With each workshop, Prairie Lane Flowers will donate a fresh bouquet to a local seniors home on behalf of the classroom. Students will have an opportunity to sign a card with their name or write a short message of encouragement to the elderly.
